Mission of the organization
The mission of the Smith County Democratic Party is to promote interest in and provide information about the Democratic Party and its candidates, to support candidates of the Democratic Party and to encourage participation in the electoral process. Democrats work to improve education, make healthcare affordable, promote an economy that produces good jobs at fair wages and to keep the nation and its environment safe. The Democratic Party organizes events where all residents can meet political candidates and elected officials to learn about and discuss local, state and national issues. Local meetings and events are listed on the party's Web site at www.smithdems.org. All meetings are public.
