Mission of the organization
Goodwill Industries of East Texas Inc. puts people with barriers to employment to work. The long-term goal is to help people move away from Goodwill and into competitive jobs in the community. Goodwill has three divisions: Career and Counseling Services provides skills testing and job training that identify individual strengths and weaknesses. Commercial Services Division offers recycling secure document destruction and manpower staffing services all to support employment for those who could not work in the competitive marketplace. Donated Goods is the retail division which supports both of these agencies. Goodwill Industries of East Texas has 16 retail stores in 14 counties. Goodwill's mission is to enhance the quality and dignity of life for individuals, families and communities by eliminating barriers to opportunity and to help people in need reach their potential through the power of work.
